Thomas F. Mulvoy, Jr. Scholarship for Aspiring Journalists
The Thomas F. Mulvoy Jr. Young Journalist Scholarship supports Boston-based students committed to community journalism and honors the legacy of longtime Boston Globe and Dorchester Reporter editor and educator Thomas F. Mulvoy Jr. Established by the Edward W. Forry and Mary Casey Forry Foundation for Community Journalism, the scholarship provides a $5,000 tuition award to a Boston resident who is a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student pursuing journalism and interested in neighborhood-based reporting. The recipient will also be named a Summer 2026 Fellow at the Dorchester Reporter, gaining hands-on newsroom experience and receiving a $1,000 monthly stipend, and will be invited to a special foundation launch event on May 28, 2026, at Southline Boston. Applications are due April 10, 2026, with notification by April 24, 2026.
